How many urls can be furlyfied into a single url?
You can place up to 50 urls. If any urls are invalid, the entire set will however be rejected.

How do you combat automated bots and spammers using your service?
We check all URLs against sbl.spamhaus.org, xbl.spamhaus.org and bl.spamcop.net DNSBL servers. If they're able to slip through, links can be reported to our abuse email. We'll aim to remove them within 24 hours.

I want to integrate support for Fur.ly into my application. Are there plans for an API?
Yes, we will be introducing an API over the next few weeks.

Why should I register?
Registering removes the reCAPTCHA when submitting urls. Urls are then bound to your account. At the moment, this simply provides you with an overview and the ability to disable the url. You can expect more features to become available as we expand our account system and introduce our API over the coming weeks.

What are API requests?
The number of requests you can make through the API and our web interface are limited by the hour. The default limit is 100; this can be raised if you have a valid reason. Please contact us if you need your limit increased.

What happens if I exceed the number of API requests?
If you are communicating through our API, your requests will be blocked until your limit is reset. If you are using the web interface, you can continue to shorten urls, but you will need to fill in the reCAPTCHA again.

How do I send long/limitless tweets with fur.ly?
Simply click "Login/Sign up", then choose the option to sign in with your Twitter account. Once you are signed in, you will find a "Tweet" navigation option to tweet directly. Alternatively, you can shorten urls and tweet at the same time.

I want to view the urls in a shortened url instead of blindly following them. Is there a way to do this?
Yes, append "un." to the shortened url. For example: http://un.fur.ly/1.
